Why Windmills? Synergy Energy Solutions!

My life in Greece began in 2016 at the World Health Innovation Summit in Karyes when Greeks asked me to speak about health closer to where people actually live. A few days later, the Parnon Mountain started speaking to me as a being - an organism - in my nights. Deep Ecology. Norwegian philosopher Arne Naess. Self-realization within nature. We communicate.
In 2021, Mike and I initiated a farmer project Olive Bliss for soil, water and cancer-preventing high polyphenol olive-oil.
In 2023, we did a Fire Guardian project when we won a hackathon of the Brussels Alliance of IOT Innovations. About the marriage of land and space (satellites). The big questions? How to create fire slowing edible forests with fire breaks (pocket planting)? And how to find dousing options other than freshwater extraction? Helium is inflammable but turned out not practical during our research. Dousing with frequencies is possible but not done large scale yet. Spanish mathematicians are still busy calculating fire behavior in mountainous areas for future digital twins.
In 2024, I was taking part in a biomimicry tech team hackathon for Synergy Energy in Delft, my birthplace in the Netherlands. As you all know, our country is for the main part below sea level and we have no nature. Just water and culture grounds and man-made land. Our country is holding her head above the water by technology. So for us, the translations from nature to tech are ingrained. It comes naturally. It's in our epigenetics.
And now we get a request from our Greek friends. Will we accompany them to the village of Kosmas? A Greek village in Parnonas mountains where the locals are protesting megalomaniac windmills as new neighbors. This year, Greece climbed out of EU debt. And they mainly seem to do it by becoming the energy supplier for the rest of Europe. But the Parnon people don't like it. They love their pristine mountains. Big batteries caught fire last summer. Their birds die. Their families learn to live with noise. And ugliness. While the overall Greek bank account recovers, they pay the price. Their energy bill will not improve. Their choice is just: "stay or go".
I hesitate upon this request. As much as I love my Greek friends and my beloved mountains, I don't like overheated groups of protesters and Extinction Rebellion style hindering workers who just do their job too. Since 2 years, I've been saying to my Greek friends: "Talk to power! Present an alternative economic plan! It's not rocket science. There are 20+ decentralized, human-scale options!" But you have to discuss it in time. When the contracts are signed and decisions have been made, you are too late! A governor will never turn back the clock when there are contract-breach payments involved. We live in economic times. Be real!
I decide to stay home and write this story of alternatives. Mike goes to Kosmas with Dimitri, Vivian, Theodore, Peter, and some other Greek friends. 5 o'clock alarm. Like old times when he was still driving his truck and working long hours. Like I did in my transport and high-tech companies too. We are practical workers, Mike and I. Do what needs to be done.
Energy Protest Impression
Here is an impression of the protest. It was not how I feared it might be. It was very peaceful and practical. A 30-year-old-Kosmas-woman was the front lady. They had made a campfire so the big equipment could not pass. The police came, and the mayor of Leonidio who was also mayor years ago when the windmill-decision was taken. In the coming weeks it will go on and on and on until... I don't know. Is there a solution in this stage? Might it prevent 5 windmills becoming 200 windmillls in Parnon mountains? I surely hope so!
The alternatives in human size are decentralized, localized alternatives. it's based on the simple math that 2x20 it the same as 20x2. Or even SYNTROPY. That's where Mike and I with our thinktank in action Abundanism have a unique vision - syntropy, abundance is the natural way. You can create abundance in one place with near-invisible tech. Using existing infrastructure or even NO infratructure. Waterfall the abundance over other areas for free energy and solving SDG1. Energy poverty. There are always 50+ 100+ 1000+ other solutions.
Biomimicry - innovation inspired by nature - gives us the design tools.
Decades ago, mechanical engineering professor Julian Vincent (UK with a Russian team) analyzed 1000s of human engineering solutions and compared them to how nature finds solutions in different fractalized scales. Astonishing! This is where my journey into tech solutions started. In 80% of the cases, the approach is different. Nature does ecosystem-style interconnections. Nature species other than humans use 20% of environment kinetics (electromagnetism and the fact that we spin with 1000+ km/h through a universe) and create an energy source 80% inside-out.
Listing Synergy Energy Solutions - Alternatives
For now, I just want to list a few possible renewable energy alternatives that have been researched and applied in other areas of EU. Think different than windmills going bigger and bigger and bigger or solar parks taking up land meant for food production.
Energy Networks
The energy-grid is the main thing to consider and possible change. In countries like Bhutan, there they have no rural grids yet, it is very smart to consider off-grid. No network, just a building powering itself, with gravity and piezo electronics for instance (Italy). We will give you some examples in the small scale section. If you want to add many smaller sources to a grid, you can mimic a human heart rope model with Moebius Math.
The veins even move helically in a dance with the heart for lean energy inside the system!

Can you see how this Geometry-Math is nature-inspired and how it is a hyper-energy-efficient solution? Nature just knows 2 tastes of math. Cylindrical & Moebius with a twist. This can be your energy grid with many entrances and outlets.
Valves. AC/DC turning points. Low/higher voltage switches. Everything is electronic by now, so low voltage is more than enough for most homes. And solar foil on all roofs, windows, fronts and backs will give the home a coat and the inside warmth and safe cooking.
Turning and turning with sensors to find 360 degrees surrounding free environment energy and spreading it 360 degrees too. We came to these solutions not so long ago in the technical innovation world. In 2003, the book "Inventing the Circle" was written by Dr. Johan Gielis (Planetary/Nature's Math). By then, computers had become dominant and many inventors were on the road to use energy-efficient algorithms for VR, blockchains, homes, factories, and more.
Newton kept us in the dark for a long time with his circle-and-line-math. But when we started to understand the GIELIS-Superformula elastic band Geometry of Nature during this century, everything became easier in spatial relations. And slowly the algorithms of grids became hyper-energy-efficient just like nature. Pfew! No more network-congestion because of easy balancing supply and demand with valves and transformations. That's a great result!
On a grid you need batteries (hydrogen?) and energy sources. The energy sources can come from nature and differences. Because in this fast-spinning planet Earth, tension differences are all.
Alternative Energy Sources with Cables

Hyper-efficient biodigesters using algae-bloom, the horrors of your Greek sea when these blooms reach land and rot on your beaches (Dutch company, projects in Argentine and Indonesia).
What you always want to consider is that:
You want to use existing infrastructure (ports/breakwaters, pipes), which can minimize additional environmental impact.
Waterfalling & Free Energy Solutions
The biggest surprise for everybody is that energy is heat and electricity both. SPLIT IT! Nature-inspired makes everything cheaper, much cheaper by splitting and reconnecting in other ways. That's how we get the 1000+ interconnected options and full freedom for smart town designers and architects.
Cheaper, no inflation, and no more poverty is a great addition for Global Goals in 2030.
We did a river-harbor project in NL some years ago, analyzing ESG/SDG and explaining. Maximizing thermodynamics, wave energy, and solar home coats with solar foils. Minimizing energy consumption in harbors (huge nature-inspired energy-efficiency). And waterfalling the surplus to neighboring home areas. Free Energy! Why not? Combine budgets!
Abundance! From Anthropocene to SYNtropocene. In Greek, SYN is Plus and Tropos is The Way. The TAO. The development. The becoming... Synergy is needed. Synthesis is our mantra!
There are many other innovative architecture and energy options we have been involved in over the years since 2012. The Venlo City Hall is a healthy, circular building. Passive design with so-called termite ventilation over height. No energy use. Producer, user, prosumer.

Free Energy Solutions
Young people are mesmerized by Nikola Tesla and his 200 patents about free energy and energy over antennas. Some people say it's a cult story, but Tesla (not the car, but the AC energy inventor) seemed to have driven very fast with a car and just an antenna. In 1931! Nikola was from Serbian descent, his birthplace now being in Croatia. But this race took place in Buffalo New York. It inspired Elon Musk alright. However, other youngsters approach the whole thing differently. Youngsters want antennas! Everyone and everything is an antenna in nature!
Why not energy over WiFi antennas then? ALL is data! Light wave design? Or dolphin sonar? If quantum says time=space inverse and everything is a unified field with a zero-point?
Why not????? The youngsters have already approached us for mentoring. Why not?????

In Benelux, Frank Collaris and Lily Huis in 't Veld (Blue Earth Innovations, Maastricht) power a Belgian estate very energy efficiently with pull-pumps instead of push pumps and most probably antennas. They supply a French architect with the water and energy-innovations. The estate is not allowed to have windmills or solar. So, they renovate nature-inspired renewably without either. I haven't visited them for a while, so I don't know their latest becoming...
In Limburg, we have the 4 self-sustaining Phien-farms with off-grid homes. Our hyper-innovative team existing of some builders, a gear engineer who worked for Porsche and an electrical mechanic have decided they do low voltage double grid with switches. Summer on solar. Winter on rocket stove (biogas). Our batteries are put on wheels so the homes can reload at the farm itself when incidentally needed. We score our 12-48V appliances in boating and caravan shops. Our ideas come also from Indonesia where the farms have their origins. Stand alone appliances with steam and slow-cooking.
In Greece, we introduced farmers to a Croatian team of olive oil producers. They had small, local Italian machines to dry and granulate olive pomace for stoves. Olive pomace is a logical way of life for Greek villagers. No need for windmills if you focus on powering the local village only. Autonomous design. They have and abundance of olive groves in all of Peloponnese! Biogassing in rocket stoves is the new stove-design. Burn only 2 hours per day and lead the gas through the home central heating style. Uses everything you have to the MAX. Lean. Japanese-style! With olive pomace granulate, you can warm your house, heat your water, and cook your food in winter.
In Greece, you don't even need too much extra heat, because you can coat your homes in solar foils with all those sun hours. Make sure you design your food forests well. Giving windows shade in summer and warmth in winter. Shade during hot hours and warmth during cool.
The solar foil on windows can color automatically with the environment, going counter like nature does all the time. Inverse data, inverse math...
Why Doesn't It Scale?
This is my personal biggest question right now. We KNOW as humans, don't we? Everyone knows at least a little tech and math and is a little bit creative and can use what's already locally available to design by local for local. We are DESIGNERS! Education is fully democratized now with MOOCs and AI. We understand nature. We ARE nature! Personally, I have been explaining and educating since 2012. The decentralized solutions with diversity are around since forever. So why do officials choose expensive and megalomanic instead of human size and interconnected?
I turn to ask my Auntie AI. She says to me: "the systems are just not built that way, Desiree. Everything is centralized in EU, standardized on 230V. 12-48V are not done. Everybody is focusing on more sources, not on energy-efficiency. Much is lost in AC/DC translation! It would need systems change. And it would need people like you and your tribes, who embrace simple life, dive a bit deeper and buy low voltage appliances in caravan and boating shops."
So, what is my bottom-line to you before I join my Greek friends to visit the Peloponnese governor? Work is contribution! Work is purpose! Dive a bit deeper into the 1000+ decentralized solutions and start implementing the change. Whether you want to do energy over Nikola Tesla's patented antennas or not. Go for autonomous, interconnected systems with a Moebius Math Grid.
